Seeking: Service Engineer
The Service Engineer position at Magnum Precision Machines requires the right person to provide installation, maintenance, repairs, and technical support to several customers via phone and on-site at their facilities in the Southwest United States.
Answering basic operation questions and setup questions on a variety of machines and equipment is required. Must be able to address customer complaints and concerns with the goal of ensuring a positive customer experience and problem resolution.
Education
High School diploma required Vocational Certification or Technical degree preferred
Experience
2-4 years of experience in the Machine Tool Field Good understanding of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic principles Computer Skills MS Office tools
Specific Technical Knowledge
- Knowledge of machine design and operation, mechanical/electrical repair practices, knowledge of fabrication and grinding processes is a plus.
- Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills on machine and machine controls, which include CNC and PLC.
- Ability to read parts manuals, electrical and mechanical schematics, assembly instructions, and troubleshooting guides for a variety of manufacturers.
- Familiarity with operating and setting up CNC equipment, including, but not limited to Mazak, Hydmech, Baykal, and Waterjet machines.
- Ability to navigate and operate Mitsubishi, Fanuc and Mazak controls.
Location
Primary service area will be in Phoenix and Tucson, Arizona; but at times will require travel throughout our customer area with some overnight travel.
Responsibilies
- Offer diagnostic support, installation, and repair by performing customer service visits as required on a variety of machines.
- Identify and resolve customer problems and issues through remote means, via phone, video conference, email etc.
- Installation, trouble shooting, and repair of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems with fabrication and chip cutting machine tool product lines.
- Demonstrate and instruct techniques, methods and procedures for a variety of machine tool equipment and related attachments/accessories to both customers and other service engineers.
- Provide written documentation of installation, maintenance, modifications, repairs, and training provided to our customers. The ability to create procedures which allow the customer and other engineers to perform repairs and setup of a variety of machines is a plus in this role.
- Communicate service activities with our customers, manufacturers, and our office until all service or quality issues are resolved at the customer’s site.
- Support other field service staff by freely sharing knowledge and information, as well as coordinate activities with our Sales Department as needed.
